[He's slightly wet because, uh, this dumb fool forgot he had a perfectly nice poncho from when they were on the bus. But it's fine. Once she opens the door, he responds with a quiet:]

Hey.

[And steps inside, taking a look around her cabin to see what they've done to the place — before focusing on her.]

... That was bad even by our standards, huh. [Can someone say yikes.] Are you, uh... y'know, okay?

Feels like "unfair" is putting it lightly. That was complete and utter bullshit.

[It's fine. Blanket forts can happen in the future for deer cabin... The rubs the back of his neck, eyebrows furrowed. Saying "I've seen worse" seems inappropriate, so he bites back that comment (for once) to nod.]

I'm fine. I'm doing better than most people here, I bet.

It doesn't. It shouldn't have been counted as one in the first place. And the guys running this show are assholes for implying it's our fault.

[Everything sucks, man.]

Sure. As long as you talk about it, too. Don't think I didn't notice you didn't say if you were okay or not.

[Oh, Natalie...

His expression softens immediately, and he reaches for her hand. If she allows it, he will pull her over to sit down on one of the bunks, but he won't insist if she doesn't.]

I know. We did our time, and now some assholes say we gotta do it all over again? To hell with that. It isn't fair. What was the point of the last two months if this is going to keep happening?

[It's fine. Now they have an excuse to hold hands for a whole ass hour. Sometimes these things happen.]

... I don't know. I don't think there are any promises we can trust. [It's, haha, a wonderful thing to think about. They had trust issues before the town, they had bigger trust issues after everything was said and done — and now there's this.] It's all kinds of fucked up, isn't it?

[... He sighs.]

I don't want to lose you again. [...] Any of you.

[Nice save.]
