[ she is... not entirely sure what to say, since most of her energy on sunday went to making sure damian was okay. not much time to think about her own problems. ]
Well... I'll just. Figure it out. I don't really know how I feel.
[ a lot of her feelings on dick is tangled is backstory, and why his death in particular especially hurt... she is not sure anyone wants to sit through all of that.
but. ]
You... remember the memory you saw of mine? A lot of people have told me that the stuff that happened wasn't my fault, when they learned about it here or at the castle. But Dick was the first person to find out about it who actually... understood the culture of what we come from, so him saying it... he's really important.
...Yeah, I get it. It's one thing to see, like, a snapshot of a situation and say it wasn't your fault. It's another to understand more about it and say the same thing. Like, it means more. Right?
It's - got to be weird. Like, even if you just met him here, I'm guessing having a general idea of what someone's gone through because you've gone through something similar makes it easier to get close to them.
I know him from home. Or... a Dick. We weren't close or anything, but I dated one of his brothers. The brother who isn't here. But my relationship with them all was... complicated and kind of messy, and it's why I really wanted him to like me here.

[It shouldn't be this hard for her to ask, but for the two of them, this is still fairly uncharted.]
Want to talk about it? I'm not - great at navigating this kind of thing, obviously, but.
[If Stephanie needs to talk out what exactly she's feeling, Natalie figures she can at least listen.]

[ hilariously, he thought she disliked him at first. ]
And then once we got over that we got to be proper friends.

[She nods, and then...]

But we're still part of the same team.

[After a second:]
I mean, it must be for you.

[ she nods. ]
We got to become actual friends here. It made me really happy.
